What is faith and how to make your faith work

Faith is the belief in something that we cannot see or touch. It is the confidence that God is who He says He is and that He will do what He says He will do.

The Bible says that faith is "the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen" (Hebrews 11:1). This means that faith is the foundation of our hope. It is what gives us confidence that God will keep His promises, even when we cannot see how He is going to do it.

How to make your faith work

There are a few things that we can do to make our faith work:

  • We need to know what we believe. We need to have a strong understanding of God's Word and His promises. The more we know about God, the more we will be able to trust Him.
  • We need to pray. Prayer is a powerful way to connect with God and to build our faith. When we pray, we are essentially talking to God and telling Him what we believe.
  • We need to act on our faith. Faith is not just about believing something. It is also about doing something. When we act on our faith, we are putting our trust in God and we are demonstrating our belief in Him.

Faith is an essential part of the Christian life. It is what gives us hope and confidence in God. When we have faith, we can trust God to do what He says He will do. We can also act on our faith and see God work in our lives.
